How much you need to show.

The minimum balance depends on how long you plan to study. Each quarter is 12 weeks.

Please note: This full amount must be visible in your bank statement. Additional funds are required for each F-2 dependent.

What makes a valid statement

Your bank statement must satisfy both AELS and U.S. immigration authorities. Meeting these requirements up front keeps your visa application moving smoothly.

  • Issued within the last 6 months.
  • Printed on official bank letterhead with the bank’s seal.
  • Shows a balance at or above the minimum for your study duration.
  • May belong to you or a sponsor supporting your studies.
