Many international students have a fear of standing up and speaking in front of a group of people. OLS has been working and practicing with students to help them learn and feel comfortable speaking English in front of a group. When students practice speaking in class in front of a group of people, they will gain confidence and they will also gain experience. It is fun for the students to see each other in front of the class speaking English out loud.
Although the international students may feel uncomfortable it will help their speaking skills tremendously. The overall outcome from speaking in front of your peers will not only gain you respect, but it will improve your English. The reason students enjoy doing this presentation is because it is something they have never done in English before. Students will learn to feel comfortable and confident speaking English in front of a group of people.
