The Importance of a Small Class Size

The Importance of a Small Class Size

At American English Language School, it is our imperative to provide students with the best English program. For us to provide this to our students, we maintain a small teacher to student ratio. Our small group classes are eight students to one teacher. There are many reasons why we emphasize a small class size; however, an essential fact is that the classes give students more opportunities to engage in conversation. The small class size allows students to have discussions about every day and pertinent topics. Engaging in conversation is vital in obtaining a confident command of the English language.

Also, teachers can provide students with a more personalized classroom environment. In this class environment, teachers are allowed to address individual student's English strengths and weaknesses. Small class size allows our teachers to get to know a student's personal goals and permits our teachers the opportunity to create a plan that focuses on these.

Furthermore, a small class size allows a distraction-free environment. Students can connect and feel free to express their opinions and ideas with colleagues who share in their pursuit of English. A small class ratio provides students with an engaging and personable environment where students can flourish and cultivate their English language skills.
