As an accredited Language School, AELS has a responsibility to ensure that we are providing the best English language program. We believe that our teachers have an essential role in the success of our students; therefore, we require that all of our teachers be screened and fingerprinted.
This process certifies that all our staff members are the utmost qualified educators who will promote an academic environment where students feel comfortable and confident.
The screening process begins during our hiring process. All potential teachers must pass and obtain clearance for the California Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). This clearance is conducted through the Live Scan process that performs a background check on individuals which provides AELS with information regarding active arrests or convictions. The DOJ / FBI background check is one of the many ways that AELS is able to pursue the mission of providing English learners with the instruments in which they can achieve their educational success.
