AELS Portfolio Project

AELS Portfolio Project

Here at AELS, our students complete weekly assignments that will be put into a portfolio. Each week the students will complete a writing assignment, a listening assignment, and an activity project. These assignments will correlate with the lessons learned that week. After completing the writing assignment, it will be graded, including comments telling the students what they can do to improve. The listening activity will allow students to listen to a script and fill in the missing blanks on their worksheet. The last portfolio item is the activity project, which is assigned on Friday and must be completed over the weekend. It will then be presented in class on Monday.

AELS gives the portfolio assignments to allow students to practice all of their skills, including, reading, writing, speaking, and listening. These assignments also will enable us to see the student’s progress week to week during the trimester. Teachers will also write individualized comments each Friday, describing what the students need to improve on and work on the most. This allows AELS to provide a remarkable ESL experience for our students.
