What does a domain ".edu" mean?

Domains ending in ".edu" signify an educational institution. But, not every institution qualifies for the ".edu" domain. In order to be eligible, you must be a U.S. postsecondary institution that is institutionally accredited by a nationally recognized accrediting agency.
